In accordance with our commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle, everyone will need to participate in four sessions a week of physical activity – this will include PE lessons within the morning timetable, while the rest will be within enrichment.
All children, irrespective of their particular sporting talents, will be encouraged to give of their best and to represent the school in sporting fixtures. We will run a number of regular school teams and pupils will be able to try out lots of different activities through an extensive clubs programme.
In order to help pupils realise their full potential we will operate some individual sporting programmes – allowing the school to find strengths in every child. Children will not always be constrained to participation in the sport of the term, but instead, through negotiation, pupils will be encouraged to pursue sports that are appropriate for their needs.
We are of course fortunate to have some excellent sporting facilities on our doorstep – including a tennis, rugby and cricket club of the highest repute and we will be generating relationships with these establishments in order to gain access to their facilities and coaching expertise. When the school is established we also aim to ensure that its facilities will also be of the finest standards, offering students and the wider community excellent sporting opportunities.
